Exploring the National Parks

National Parks are largely considered "American's best idea", and have been steadily growing in every way since their inception in 1872. Today, national parks are the pinnacles of environmental pride in their home states and throughout the country. Including not only magnificent mountains, deserts, and forests, national parks protect some of the county's most unique landscapes ranging from caves to petrified forests. Not only protecting lands, the parks act as a bastion for a fundamentally democratic policy that was once uniquely American - shared public land for all. ". . .To conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wild life therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations."
